It's just 14 days into the new year, and Valentine's Day is sneaking up on us! Every year it comes around, I think about my favorite childhood memory about my Dad. He always gave me a shiny red heart-shaped box full of candy and either a stuffed animal or some kind of toy to go along with it. I always loved his gifts, but I also loved the manner in which he gave them to me....always with a huge happy smile on his face and lots of hugs. It's a fond memory of my Dad that I'll hold in my heart for as long as I live. :)
Unchain My Heart." It's part of my "Valentine's Day Collection." I'll be adding more pieces to my collection throughout this next week.
So...how about you? Do you have a favorite memory about Valentine's Day or do you dread the holiday? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Happy Friday! :-D

It's the beginning of a new year, and I've decided to post about each month's birthstone color. For January, the traditional and modern birthstone color is "Red."
When I have a lot of tasks I need to conquer in one day, I throw on a red t-shirt for the extra energy I'm going to need. Red is a warm dynamic color, and I love it! My front door is painted red, and `warm wine red` is one of the colors in my kitchen. To me, red is hot, exciting, confident, energizing, dynamic and fierce. There are rosy red lips, red hearts, red sports cars, red wine, red roses, red sunsets, red skittles (my fav!), red ruby gemstones & crystals....sometimes we all get a little `red in the face` (hot flashes for me :-P) and maybe at least once in our lives, we get caught `red handed.` ;) When you want to draw attention to yourself, throw on that sexy red dress and of course, don't forget your stunning red jewelry!
For all the January birthdays out there, enjoy and embrace your gorgeous red birthstone!

It's a Winter wonderland in my part of the world!
I thought I would share a few photos I took in December.
This is part of my front yard after the largest and longest snowfall so far this Winter. We've got lots more since I snapped this photo. The large tree to the right doesn't normally fall so close to the ground. Some of the trees have so much snow on them, that huge branches have broken off.
This is part of my backyard. Conan is inspecting the huge branch that fell. Notice how deep the snow is by seeing only half of my dog's legs. Those are young Chinese Maple trees that are completely bent over by the weight of the snow.
Conan loves the snow! He also likes making lots of trails too. Good for when he needs another poddy break. ;)
Well, that's it for now. Will post more soon. Hope everyone is having a great start to 2011!
