Wuthering Heights

I've always enjoyed watching the local public TV station, and about two years ago, I started watching the Masterpiece Theater features every Sunday night. Earlier last year, I got the opportunity to watch Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights" and I fell in love with it! Even though I'm a scary movie freak, I love a good love story, and this one is at the very top of my list.

I purchased the DVD two weeks ago and finally took a day off from everything and watched it earlier today with my baby girl, Crizzy (my 18 yr. old kitty.) I've been hanging out with Crizzy a lot more these days since she was diagnosed with Lymphoma. By the way, for those that know, she's doing great! Eating, drinking, and is much stronger and has more energy since we started the depomedrol injections. She's a strong girl, just like her Mama, and I really feel she's going to be around a lot longer than is expected.
Anyway...sorry to get off topic. The actors are superb! Tom Hardy plays the perfect role as Heathcliff, plus he's very easy on the eyes too. *wink-wink* It's such a strong passionate movie, and I actually cried a few times. If you haven't seen this version of the movie, then you're missing out! I'm not sure if you can rent the DVD, but E-Bay is a good source for buying it. I only paid $13.00....a great deal for a true classic!

Peanut Butter & Chocolate

I made these yummy cookies for Valentine's Day.....and there's still a few left! :O  LOL!

They are peanut butter with Hershey Kisses on top. So simple to make, and especially good right when they come out of the oven!  I was going to get really fancy and bake sugar cookies and decorate them with icing and all that good stuff, but my hubby loves peanut butter, and since I hadn't made these in a while, I figured these would be perfect.

I ended up baking so many that I made up a sweet basket full for my son & daughter-in-law. Everyone loved them, and I have a feeling I'll be making more long before another holiday! :D
ahhh.....peanut butter & chocolate...a delicious combination!

A New Necklace with Artbeads' V-Day Beads & Components

I was finally able to muster up a photo of my newest jewelry piece I made with Valentine's Day beads & components from Artbeads. Please excuse the not so good photo. I use natural light for all my jewelry photos, but rainy & cloudy days make photo taking very challenging.

I call this petite Lariat necklace design, "I ♥ U."
I love the Sterling Silver Heart Links! (They are 15% off right now) They would work great in an earring design, which is what I had planned, until this necklace design popped into my head. And you know me, I listen to the voices in my head....so I've been told. ;) I used a Sterling Heart Link to attach the chain tassels and to attach to the focal Sterling heart. The Sterling heart is actually part of one of my toggle sets. How cool is that?! I accented the Sterling chain tassels with the cutest Sterling Silver Key to Heart Charm, one of my Fire-Polished purple Glass beads, a Metallite Antique Silver Heart (which has granulations along the outside edge), and an adorable Metallite Antique Silver Double Heart w/Kisses strung with an Amethyst Pearlized Heart. At the top of the tassels, I added another Antique Silver Heart bead and one of my Fire-Polished very light-purple Glass beads. For added flair, (I love flair!) I linked 2 Amethyst Pearlized Hearts to each side of another Sterling Heart Link. I finished this necklace with a Silver-Plated lobsterclaw clasp and added a 1" extender accented with......you guessed it, another Amethyst Pearlized Heart. I think I'm in love with the Pearlized Hearts!! *wink* Seriously though, every product I've received from Artbeads for this necklace and the previous designs is very well made. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top quality stuff!

Well ladies and gents, this ends my fun and creativity reviewing  Valentine's Day Beads & Components from Artbeads. Not only have I had a lot of fun, but I've stretched my creative mind, and I've added more beads to my "must have" list! :-)

Psst...pearlized glass hearts ♥ ♥ ♥

Sorry I'm a few days late from my last post. That thing called "life" just keeps getting in the way of my beading! LOL!
Now...on to these very lovely heart beads from Artbeads. These Pearlized Glass Hearts are Pressed Czech Glass Beads with the beading hole running from top to bottom. They have a gorgeous pearl luster to them and are just the right size (6mm) to make heads turn twice!

These are a beautiful Amethyst color...

and these are Caramel Rose with just the right tint of rose.

Both colors blend perfectly on these new Antique Copper filigree earrings!
I love the old charm feel of these earrings! Instead of using regular jump rings, I jazzed them up a little with part of some Antique Copper Circle Link Chain and hung them from my handmade Antique Copper earwires. I'm still trying to think of a name for them, so if you have any ideas, please post them. A big "THANK YOU" in advance! And also, many thanks to Artbeads for their awesome products!

Please tune in tomorrow to see my very last jewelry piece made with Valentine's Day beads & components from Artbeads.com.

Peace and Love with Artbeads

I turned these very cool Sterling Silver Heart-Shaped Peace Sign Posts and...

these gorgeous Blue Tiger Eye Flower Petals...

into these very pretty cool and hip earrings!
I added Metallite Antique Silver Hearts and  Metallite Antique Silver Five Petal Flowers, and Walah!! A great pair of earrings for everyday wear! And I made them with my latest stash of Valentine's Day beads & components from Artbeads.
They totally remind me of the 60's....all about peace, joy, and love. So, I named them, "Peace and Love." Now...I know I'm probably dating myself here, but just for the record, I was just a baby in the 60's. LOL!! Although, I would've worn these earrings in the 70's for sure, which is my era. ;)

As I said earlier, everything for my earrings came from Artbeads. I only used a small portion of my own stuff, such as, Sterling Silver ball headpins, jump rings, and Argentium Sterling wire. If you don't know about Artbeads, then you're missing out! They have so many quality items, and shipping is always FREE in the U.S. and only $1.00 for Canada! I love that! Be sure to check out their current weekly specials and their Medal Mania Sale.

Check back on Friday when I reveal another new creation!

New Necklace Designs

In my previous post, I shared my latest stash of Valentine themed beads & components from Artbeads. And finally...after taking and editing about a few dozen photos, here are the two necklaces I made! :)

I call this one "From The Heart."
First off, I am in love with the Copper Heart pendant! It's embellished with a lovely spiral design, and the patina finish is so amazing! The process that this handcrafted pendant goes through ensures that it will last a very long time and never change colors or tarnish.

Now, on to the making of the necklace. I use a lot of antique copper cause I love the old charm look. Since this was my first attempt at making a copper piece with no antique in it, except for the gorgeous pendant of course, I decided to make it look a little antiqueish. I know that's not a word, but I'm sure you get my meaning. lol  Wanting the necklace to have a feminine side, as well as an antique look,  is where the Pearls come into play. I didn't want everything to be even either, so I broke up the Pearl accents and made 4 links on one side and linked a larger Copper Shell Pearl on the other side and accented it with two Antique Copper bead caps. I used small Copper beads for accents too.

Here's a view of the complete necklace. The chain is so pretty! Even more prettier in person! It's Copper Plated Small Oval Link chain, and it has a gorgeous shine to it. The necklace finishes with a copper lobster claw clasp, which I purchased from Artbeads. I like to add small dangles or charms to the closings of all my pieces. It's like putting my signature on the completion of each piece. And for this necklace, I made a tiny dangle by stringing a caramel rose pearlized glass heart on an antique copper ball headpin and topping it off with a small copper bead. It hangs from a 1" extender chain I added using the same chain.

My 2nd necklace is called, "Reach For The Stars."
I usually add more to a necklace, but after I attached the very pretty heart pendant to the chain, I didn't feel it needed much more, other than a few accents. So, I added a very cute Hill Tribe star charm (which is flower stamped too) and a red Czech Glass rondelle with a Sterling Silver bead cap. The pendant is so beautiful! It's a Stoneware Heart Pendant with Yellow Stars handmade with stoneware clay. The red is a very rich color, and the golden yellow stars really pop! I've got more Stoneware Pendants on my "to buy" list! They're on sale right now too!

The Antique Silver chain is so lovely! It's called Antique Silver Plated 1 + 1 Infinity Link Chain, and you can get it at Artbeads. I finished this necklace with a heart-shaped silver lobster claw clasp. I added an extender using Sterling Silver chain and signed it with an Antique Silver heart beaded on a Sterling Silver ball headpin.

Thanks for reading! Check back on Wednesday & Thursday to see the rest of my creations made with Valentine's Day beads & components from Artbeads!
